The Haines Chamber of Commerce will introduce “Chamber After Hours” this Friday.
The 5-7 p.m. event is a networking mixer that will rotate among local businesses. Kristine Harder of Buckshot & Bobby Pins, 221 Main St., is the first host.
“After-hours mixers are a great opportunity for the business community to meet and network with each other, to introduce new and prospective members, to build relationships with businesspeople, and to promote businesses in a relaxed social atmosphere,” the chamber announced in an e-mail.
Harder’s shop has been open for a few months. She said visiting other Haines businesses helped her avoid overlap in products offered.
“If we get to know one another’s businesses, we’re able to serve the community better,” Harder said.
She said her mixer also will have live music. For more information on the event, contact Harder at 766-2450.
Chamber member businesses interested in hosting “Chamber After Hours” are encouraged to contact the chamber at 766-2202 or [email protected].
“The idea is to create more exchange and to introduce each other to each other’s businesses and let us know what it is we all do,” said Ned Rozbicki, chamber president.
