To all participants of the Japanese food fund-raiser: It was a huge success! On behalf of Seibukan Jujutsu of Haines, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks. Our young martial arts school has now met its financial goal to accommodate our rapidly growing juniors’ class with a set of brand new, professional gym mats. Thanks to everyone who attended. To those who were unfortunately not served, or turned away because we ran out of food, I offer you my personal apologies for having underestimated such a big turnout. Next time, you will be satisfied – I promise! If you participated in the auction, either by donating items or bidding, or auctioneering, know that your contributions added up to over a third of the event’s success. To the parents and students who committed such a great deal of time, energy and resources to the event, I am most grateful to you. It would not have come close to being the success that it was without your volunteered help and wonderful ideas. To the juniors’ class, your fiery demonstration was an inspiration to everyone – most of all, to me. A big thanks goes to the Haines Elks for the use of their wonderful space and fabulous kitchen. Thanks also to contributing businesses, including the Parts Place and Dejon Delights for their generous donations, as well as Mountain Market for their counter space. Thank you, Haines!
