I just heard about the passing of Charlie Brouillette. I send my condolences and prayers to his family during this time. As a young adult Charlie shaped, like many of us from Haines, I remember him as my fifth-grade teacher and friend. He was a great person and teacher. I remember telling my wife and son stories of how much fun he made learning. From balancing yard sticks to slinging erasers across the class at targets using rubber bands tied together, he tried to get us to learn and make it interesting. He made us all feel important.
As with all things, we must come full circle and in this case his circle will keep rolling in his family and all the children who were lucky enough to experience his teachings. Here’s to you Mr. Brouillette, you will be missed but never forgotten; even children who never met you know about you. I celebrate your life and everything you gave to me.
