Maybe we should post pictures of the people who have been attacked by a brown bear, like my father, and post them on a sign by the Chilkoot River weir or the entrance to Chilkoot Lake road. The stupid jerk in the picture in last week’s newspaper didn’t know he was one slap from being beheaded. He should also receive a maximum fine for harrasing wildlife. Something should be done to make people aware of the dangers associated with getting too close to wild bears. Evidently a bear monitor is not doing the trick, as they can’t be every where at once. The only thing that is keeping people safe, in my opinion, is that the bears are smarter than the people.
