It takes a community to put on a fair. Thanks to all who worked hard to make it successful. We had more calls than ever from people wishing to help manage events, man rides, help with exhibits, display animals, house performers, or provide meals.

More than 70 businesses contributed financially.

It’s necessary to name a few people who went above and beyond. Thanks to Pete Dohrn, Whiterock Nursery, Donnie Turner and Southeast Roadbuilders for donating time and materials to beautify the grounds. Thanks to Doug Olerud for donating his dump truck for garbage. Thanks to Les Hostetler for keeping fair staff upright, to Bob Mussman for all the emergency plumbing and other maintenance. Thanks Jerry and Gina Erny, Sarah Jaymott, Pam Sloper, and Bob Whitcomb for staffing the ticket booth. Theresa Raven and Deborah Davis put in serious time at the train depot selling ride tickets. Larry West coordinated from Juneau. Julie Anderson was queen of the bounce house and bungee run. Paul Wheeler set up and staffed the beer garden. Thank you.

Thanks to those who ran the logging show, the fisherman’s rodeo, and the horseshoe and volleyball tournaments. We couldn’t put on these events without you.

The problem with naming some is that I inevitably will leave others out. Thanks to all who helped. You know who you are. The success of the 2010 Southeast Alaska State Fair is a testament to your contributions.
