Volunteers, members and prospective members are invited to the Southeast Alaska State Fair annual meeting and volunteer party, 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28.
The meeting will be followed by a barbecue at 6:30 p.m. and dance featuring Swing Set. The dinner and dance cost $5, but are free for fair volunteers.
The annual meeting will include reports by fair staff and board members on the recent fair, as well as updates on the fairgrounds and other fair business. At least two seats on the fair’s nine-member board of directors will be filled.
Only members of the fair are eligible to vote in the board election or serve on the board. Memberships, which start at $25, will be available at the meeting.
