(Rashah McChesney/Chilkat Valley News) Parts of the Letnikof Dock are towed to shore on April 26, 2025, near Haines, Alaska.
The Letnikof floats have been decommissioned and given to Haines Packing while the existing moorings and gangway are being preserved and will be incorporated into the design of a new float, Haines harbormaster Henry Pollan said.
Pollan said the existing moorings are marked with yellow buoys and that vessels should not tie to them.
Additionally, Pollan said staff have made “substantial repairs” to the concrete pads of the launch ramp and will be opening the ramp and installing the float dock next week.
