A spokesperson for the U.S. Forest Service said that, under a new management plan, the Tongass National Forest would be harvested to keep up with the demand for paper election mailers.
“People love getting political flyers,” said USFS spokesperson Christina Stihl. “The flyer industry has increased 3,000% in this last election cycle alone. We’ve created a management plan to reflect those needs.”
