Longtime Lutak resident and retired educator Frank Holmes, 89, died Oct. 3 in Albany, Oregon of “a convergence of illnesses,” daughter Stephanie Holmes-Farmer said. Holmes was somewhat of a medical miracle, having survived cancer and several heart-stopping events in his lifetime, including one that put him in a medically induced coma.
