Haines students will get more opportunities to explore and study local ecology thanks to a $17,000 grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The money will help the Takshanuk Watershed Council hire an education coordinator for its EcoStudies program, now in its fifth year.
“We’ve dubbed this ‘No Child Left Inside,’” said watershed council director Tim Shields. “Our goal is two field trips per week.”
