Whenever enthusiasm wanes during an election, some folks tend to ask, “what if they held an election and no one voted?”

It happened in Haines last weekend. 

The Chilkoot Indian Association‘s election was so sparsely attended that it was cancelled and rescheduled for this coming Saturday. 

“Due to the lack of voting, we closed up the election,” said association vice president Matilda Lewis.
