An orphaned moose calf taken in by a Mosquito Lake couple is making its new home at a wildlife park in Washington state.
The cow moose was shipped Thursday night to the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville, southeast of Seattle, said state game biologist Matt Robus.
She had been in Fish and Game custody in Juneau for almost two weeks while medical tests were run to satisfy the Washington Department of Agriculture, Robus said.
