The Haines Borough Assembly will begin considering two proposals for private management of Haines’ Port Chilkoot cruise ship dock.
One is from port management company Global Ports Holding. The other is from a partnership of two regional companies, Huna Totem Corporation and Survey Point Holdings, calling themselves Port Chilkoot Development Corporation, or PCDC.
Both would aim to increase total passenger visitation, but neither offer guarantees the borough more money than it’s already bringing in.
