Twin Coves is a very popular hangout for locals. It is a special place, mostly untarnished by humans. It’s usually quiet and peaceful there. Shorebirds nest in the grass. It’s a migratory path for bear and moose.
Places like Twin Coves, where you can walk or boat and still feel a tinge of wild, are getting increasingly difficult to find.
You put a public use cabin there, with all its trappings, and a lot of that “magic” will be lost. Instead of that intangible feeling of wild, you will have a constant cavalcade of visitors and their dogs; mostly from the outside, who have reserved the cabin online six months in advance.
Sacrificing our few special hangs so people from mostly the outside world can muck them up is a really bad idea.
