For those of us who served, the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States was not a formality; it was a lifelong commitment. It is difficult to reconcile that solemn pledge with the current direction of the Trump administration. To support actions that undermine our constitutional foundations is to turn our backs on the very values we swore to protect. True patriotism demands that we place the constitution above any single politician or administration.
