On behalf of the UGLYS of Haines I would like to take this time to express our extreme gratitude to Becca Geary and Tammy Jobbins along with the staff of Tongas Federal Credit Union for their generous donation to our cancer fund.
As most of the community knows, part of our dedication to the community of Haines is that the UGLYS have a fund that solely donates money to cancer patients for the patient’s discretion on where a monetary donation would help them the best.
Last week the staff of TFCU organized and held a silent auction in conjunction with their strategic planning meeting in Haines. The Haines branch used locally donated items and listed the UGLYS (the cancer fund) as the beneficiary for all funds they raised from the silent auction.
Along with all the proceeds raised, they also threw in a match that will further assist several residents of Haines with their battle against cancer.
Again, thank you Tongas Federal Credit Union for your generosity, and your continued support for the people of the Chilkat Valley!
