Caller reported hearing 5 gun shots in the area on Mosquito Lake Road. Officers advised.

Caller reported an injured bear in the area at Fort Seward. Officers advised. 

Caller reported a dead bear on Mud Bay Road. Caller believes it is one of the injured ones. Officer advised and responded. 

Caller advised a hacker got into her bank located in Juneau. She was advised to contact the Juneau Police Department.

Caller reported duck hunters below mean high tide on Lutak Road. Officers were advised. 

A driver was given a verbal warning for speeding on Piedad Road.

Caller reported an injured bear in the area at Fort Seward.

A driver was given a verbal warning for equipment on Third Avenue.

Friday, Dec 27

Officers assisted another agency on Haines Highway.

A driver received a verbal warning for equipment on Haines Highway.

Caller reported being assaulted on Haines Highway. Officers responded and an arrest was made.

Saturday, Dec 28

Caller reported boulders in the roadway on Haines Highway. The caller stated he had removed them and the roadway is now clear. The caller was given the number to the Department of Transportation.

Caller reported some skinned animals left on the side of the roadway on Haines Highway. An officer was advised and responded. 

Caller reported a strong smell of fuel from the creek on Mud Bay Road. The volunteer fire department and police responded but did not locate the smell. 

Sunday, Dec 29

Caller advised boulders in the roadway on Lutak Road. Caller stated you could get around them but just barely. DOT was advised.

Caller reported an open door on Second Avenue. An officer responded but the door had been closed. 

Monday, Dec 30

Caller advised someone ringing her doorbell for 5 to 10 minutes at 3:28 am on Deishu Drive. Caller stated when she went to the door the ringing stopped. Caller stated she didn’t know who it was. An officer responded and the person was gone on arrival. 

Caller reported someone is sending emails in her name. An officer spoke with caller. 

Officers assisted another agency on Haines Highway. 

Caller advised that there was a trespasser on a yellow snow machine on Mosquito Lake Road. Officers advised.

Tuesday, Dec 31

The Fire Department did a service call.

A driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Mud Bay Road.

A driver was given a verbal warning for equipment on Union Street.

Thursday, Jan 2

A caller advised things were taken by his significant other on Second Avenue. Caller was advised to contact the court.

A caller advised that an injured brown bear had crawled into a culvert on Mud Bay Road. Fish and Game advised. Officers responded and found the bear to be sleeping. The bear moved on later in the evening. 

A man was arrested on a warrant on First Avenue.

Friday, Jan 3

A caller requested a welfare check on a female who appears to be passed out on Dalton. An officer responded and the woman stated she didn’t need help.

Dispatchers took caller information on a lost key.

Saturday, Jan 4

A caller reported an ice sheet covering Haines Highway. DOT was advised.

A second caller reported the ice sheet on Haines Highway.

Monday, Jan 6

Officers responded to a report of a citizen in crisis. 

Caller requested extra patrols at his house on Deishu Drive.

Caller reported a truck stuck in the snow on Haines Highway. Dispatch called the caller back and she stated the roadway was clear and the vehicle had been moved. 

Caller reported a white truck blocking the Haines Highway 20 minutes prior. The caller stated there are also other cars by the truck blocking the highway. Officers responded but the vehicles were gone upon arrival. 

Tuesday, Jan 7

Caller stated she gave a ride to a suspicious male on Haines Highway who had two backpacks and a ton of items he loaded into the back of her truck. Officers responded and spoke with the male who was wearing sunglasses upside down and had two pencils stuck in his ears. 

A brown leather wallet found on Dalton Street was turned into the Police Department. The owner was located and the wallet returned. 

A caller reported someone camping in Tlingit Park overnight. Officers responded but did not locate anyone camping. 

Wednesday, Jan 8

A driver received a verbal warning for failure to stop at a stop sign on Main Street. 

Officers responded to a report of a citizen in crisis. 

A caller reporting an individual violating their conditions of release on Mosquito Lake Road. Officers are investigating. 

A caller requested a welfare check on a person who had received bad news on Third Avenue. 

Thursday, Jan 9

A caller reported a neighbor told them to ‘get off the dark mountain’ on Third Avenue. The caller stated she didn’t trust the neighbor and was advised to seek a protection order from the court.

Friday, Jan 10

A caller reported a person they knew often drove intoxicated. Caller stated the person was not currently driving and they didn’t know when they would be. Caller stated they just wanted the police to be on the look out for the driver.

A caller turned in a syringe they found on the roadway on Mud Bay Road. The syringe was disposed of properly.

A bounced 911 call was received requesting non-emergency assistance. A dispatcher relayed the message to the Juneau Police Department. 

Saturday, Jan 11

A caller reported an accidental deployment of the fire alarm system on Second Avenue. 

The caller advised they did not want the Fire Department to respond. 

There were 10 911 hang-up calls, 4 canine calls, 29 EMS calls, and 6 burn permits issued during this reporting period.
