Richard Primo Williams Jr. died December 1, in Anchorage. A celebration of life will be held for him on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 4 p.m. at the Haines ANB Hall. A potluck dinner will follow.

Dan Egolf is looking for people to participate in the Haines’ 37th annual Audubon Christmas bird count on Thursday, Dec. 17. The nearly 125-year-old count is thought to be the nation’s longest-running citizen science project. Haines has two 15-mile-wide count circles: one in Haines and one in the eagle preserve.
