Monday, October 14

Caller reported a vehicle on Main Street has been parked in excess of the one-hour parking rule – the owner was contacted and advised to move the vehicle. 

The vehicle owner advised that his new key for the vehicle will be in today and he will move his vehicle when it arrives. 

Caller requested a welfare check on their friend. They were advised to contact the Alaska State Troopers. 

Tuesday, October 15

Caller reported a crazed person broke into their sleeping quarters and waved a dead porcupine in their face – an officer responded and spoke to both parties. 

Caller reported he accidentally set off an alarm and there were no issues, in case the alarm company called dispatch. 

A driver was given a verbal warning for failure to properly yield on Haines Highway. 

Caller turned in a wallet – the owner was located and the wallet returned. 

Caller reported an intoxicated female drove past their house – caller stated the vehicle was going super slow and the female was yelling at them and stopping on Haines Highway. An officer was advised. 

Caller stated someone was trespassing on their property – an officer responded but the people had left. 

Wednesday, October 16

Driver was given a verbal warning for speed on Haines Highway. 

A wallet was turned into dispatch – the owner was located and the wallet returned. 

Caller reported a vehicle weaving in the roadway and crossing into the opposite lane – an officer was advised. 

Saturday, October 19 

Caller reported their vehicle was stuck in a manhole without a cover – the Department of Transportation and Haines Borough water and sewer department were advised. 

Caller reported a person parked in the roadway near the Port Chilkoot Dock  while taking their dog for a walk on the beach – an officer was advised. 

Caller reported their neighbor had 13 junked vehicles blocking road access – Caller was given the number to the Alaska State Troopers. 

There were six 911 hang-up calls, two EMS calls and 8 burn permits issued.
