Public safety building funding will likely bring community conflict

So, it may finally happen, the 1977 (temporary) public safety/former City of Haines building is to be replaced, or will it. Let the squabbling begin. Money, design, location, purpose, all to be discussed, rather robustly I’ll wager, for the next several years, as prices go up and usable square footage goes down.

I will be mordant for a moment; how about we bring the front-end loader over from the shop, crush a few cars, trucks, trailer, boats or other useless eyesores, that currently clutter the parking lot at the Public Safety building, to raise some money to offset the cost of the new building?
