It would be interesting to know the demographics of the attendees at the Southeast Alaska State Fair imported drag show, which was subsidized by Haines taxpayers. Were the attendees property taxpayers, business leaders or people of faith with families? The picture on the front page of the Chilkat Valley News reveals otherwise. Maybe the admitted lack of volunteers for the fair was a silent statement being sent to deaf ears.
