On behalf of the art students and myself, I just wanted to send out a big thank you to everyone in the community that financially contributed to the Ceramics Trip. The trip was an incredible success and an amazing life experience for the students that attended. We spent eight days down in Oregon visiting museums, colleges, and art studios. Four of those days we stayed at East Creek Art Center and learned how to fire pots outside in different atmospheric kilns. The students had in-depth discussions with professional artists, college students and professors about art and life beyond high school. The students were excellent representatives of our community and school. I couldn’t have envisioned a better trip for these amazing students and a better way for me to complete my year. All of your collective support made it happen! Special thanks are due to Travis Kukull, who donated time with our dinner fundraiser, and Sarah Bishop at Old Field Kitchen for hosting both our pottery sale and the Potters Dinner. Thank you.
