The Haines Sheldon Museum is grateful for the $2,400 gift from the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation in support of improving our digital access. The museum is home to about 12,000 historic photos. Our project goal is to get more of them seen by the public—using high-definition, 4K/LED flatscreen technology. This winter we need some help from community members with interest in our photographic collections—help with image selection, scanning, and creating high-definition historic content to share digitally.
If you would like to help and spend time with our remarkable collection of historic photos of Haines and the Chilkat Valley, Burl Sheldon is coordinating volunteers. He can be reached at the museum Tues – Fri 10 – 3pm, (907-766-2366;[email protected]), or by cell: 907-314-0331.
