In the July 5th article “Governor’s vetoes hit seniors, schools” it was stated that the assembly “raised the property tax mills in the townsite area to pay for the bond payments.” This is incorrect; While the manager’s budget included increased mills to cover cuts, the assembly reduced the debt service mills under the assumption of full debt reimbursement.
In the CVN’s July 11th article’s “Assembly again will consider expanded police service area” and “Chief Scott up for reappointment” we incorrectly referred to the commission’s recommendation as a “tax ordinance.” The question before the assembly is whether to put a charter amendment before the voters, not its funding mechanism.
