Thanks to the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation for underwriting purchase of a new state-of-the-art CPR training mannequin for the Haines swimming pool. The new dummy gives instant feedback on how effective artificial breaths and chest compressions are, life-saving skills for lifeguards to learn.

The Friends of the Pool partnered with the Haines Dolphins to acquire this equipment for our borough-owned pool, a great example of non-profits and the borough working together to support a well-loved community institution.

In that same vein, thanks to the Haines Borough School District for funding operation of the pool and allowing all children to swim free during August. It’s been a busy month!

Lastly, thanks to the borough assembly for restoring pool funding this year. Come on down for a splash or a sauna!
