The Chilkat Valley Historical Society sincerely appreciates the support of the Rasmuson Foundation. Our Secure Agriculture and Wildlife Project (fencing grant project) is now helping fund 26 local food production projects. The Rasmuson gift of $12,000 means the community produces more local food and bears and other wildlife stay out of harm’s way.
As a reminder, when the salmon season winds down, bears move off the creeks and start looking elsewhere for a meal. Bears that become food conditioned, whether to garden veggies or trash, live short lives. Thank you Rasmuson Foundation!
