Haines! Always fun writing to my favorite mining town. I want to go out of my way in this letter to tell you how much I appreciate the audience I have here in Haines, and how much I care about writing to my community. I hope you can see the effort I put into the letters I write, while hoping to make you laugh with historical commentary. As a fokkorost, it is the most important aspect—and certainly my favorite—of my entire literary career (which is vast—it’s a big solar system, and so young!)

Today I want to share something I learned about international mining, and the mine movements, from Greta Thunberg and Elon Musk. (As an autistic person, these are the only human beings I look up to on this planet.)

Greta Thunberg is the most honest and courageous human being we currently have. She said what she did to the entire corrupt leadership of the planet: she called them liars and frauds right to their faces—on global television! And in return for this service to humanity? Slandered relentlessly by those who repeat corporate propaganda to anger people they don’t like.

And Elon? He’s literally the only American who has done a single thing to prevent climate change, and give the human (and other) species on Earth a fighting chance in this solar system. Yet he’s relentlessly slandered by the ‘anti-mine’ movement—whose own education and efforts aren’t worth a single box of rocks.
