Haines residents witnessed one of the most dramatic displays of the aurora borealis in years late Wednesday, Nov. 3. The hours-long show included shimmering, multi-colored curtains of green and red hues and the starburst-like corona effect. The display was followed by dozens of photos from Haines and around Alaska posted on social media.
