I’ve recently noticed several genuine attempts at conspiracy theory literature in the letters section. Thank you for sharing! I find these surprising, and I love being surprised. “That is a highly efficient language for transmitting information!” I think to myself, hearing these inspired recombinations of our shared reality.
In fact, I decided to apply the same method to my own analysis of history, as a thought experiment—and ya know what? I think I might’ve accidentally solved one of history’s most puzzling Rubik’s cubes! Tell me what you think of the solution, using the Iliad as metaphorical framework:
The Republic of Texas is the House of Atreus, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the House of Priam—who have seduced the Texans out of their wits with lavish oil wealth. Everything fits: they used the ‘eagle’ of the intelligence services to remove the ‘snake’ of the Kennedys from the ‘tree’ of the republic, sacrificed Iphigenia (the 1960s youth movements), subverted the rewards of the Apollo mission to serve the military industrial complex, and subjugated the American economy and populace into neverending conflict with the neighbors and rivals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
JFK killed in Dallas. LBJ. NASA. Iran. Afghanistan. Iraq. Both Bushes. 9/11. All those wars.
And all of that public groveling our oil-drunk leaders offered the House of Saud over the years! The endless tributes and ransoms of treasure and weapons!
But where does this leave Alaska now? Holding wooden reins, or whispering in the dark?
