Theater group joins in global musical revue productions

Lynn Canal Community Players’ Tod Sebens is searching for 15 local singers to perform in a musical revue that will be staged during one weekend in November in theaters across the world.

All Together Now, a Music Theatre International (MTI) production, is described by the organization as a global event that will provide opportunity for local theaters to “produce and perform an exclusive musical revue featuring songs from MTI’s beloved shows.” Performers will sing Broadway musical songs on November 12, 13 and 14 in theaters in at least 38 countries and all 50 U.S. states.

“I think it’s a real good chance to showcase singing talent in this town,” Sebens said. “I love theater and I love to show the talent of the town in various ways whether it’s acting, singing, dancing or whatever.”

The musical revue will have spots for 15 talented singers of various ages to perform at the Chilkat Center for the Arts. Sebens said he and a music director, soon to be chosen, will determine assignments based on vocal range and ability. Singers will need to engage in some acting as they perform scenes from the Broadway musical the song appears in.

“We’ll have costume changes to fit the song,” Sebens said. “We hope to incorporate minimal acting.”

Sebens said interested residents should contact him at 907-321-2302 or [email protected] as soon as possible. “Time is of the essence. We have to get this cruising because it can only be produced in November,” Sebens said. “Don’t wait until the last minute to call me. Call or email right away.”

More information can be found at mtishows.com. MTI is one of the world’s leading theatrical licensing agencies that gives theaters rights to perform “the greatest selection of musicals from Broadway and beyond,” according to its website.
