So last spring I’m driving down Young Road when I notice that the stop sign at Oslund and Young Road is lying in the ditch. Fast forward a month and now the sign is no longer lying in the ditch. It’s gone. Being that the stop sign at that intersection is important and a good thing, I email the borough and voice my concern. Weeks go by and the sign is still down so I take it a step further and mention it in passing to one of our elected officials. More weeks go by and again, no sign. Now I’m wondering, is the Borough so busy that a matter of public safety is pushed to the rear? Next stop the police department, surely they’ll be concerned enough to follow through on this matter of public safety. Nope, didn’t happen, signs are still a no show. A short time later another opportunity presents itself at one of our local markets, when I mention it again to another elected official. Days have gone by now and you guessed it, no sign. Maybe it’s because the street department can’t find Oslund and Young Roads. because there is no street sign to indicate that that’s the correct intersection. So, if you happen to be coming up Young Road you may want to slow down when you near its intersection with Oslund. Stay tuned.
