Arctic Chiropractic Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy opened this month, filling the gap left by this summer’s closure of Chris Thorgesen’s Klondike Chiropractic on Main Street. Thorgesen still owns the offices and is leasing the space.

“We have a full-time massage therapist that starts September 1,” said Arctic chiropractor Truman Davidson.

Davidson is in town to help Steven Rupp, the office’s full-time chiropractor, get established. Rupp will arrive in early September. “I have been in Juneau for five years,” Rupp said in an email. “In my off time, I like to go hiking, hitting the trails to get out in nature, even trying my hand at wood working when I get the chance. I love Southeast Alaska and found my place in the world.”

Arctic’s massage therapist specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal and sleep massage.

The Haines office is one of more than 30 across the state. Arctic Chiropractic is based out of Palmer.

Massages cost between $100-$120 per hour if paying with cash. Call 766-3200 for more information.
