Without any fanfare, the Chilkoot Indian Association (CIA) built and opened for public use an accessible walking trail connecting East and West Fair Drives. It’s wonderful.

I invite the community to join me in acknowledging the very positive influence the tribe has in our community through its willingness to share its resources in building community infrastructure.

The trail goes beyond a simple transportation corridor; in two sections between Third Avenue and West Fair Drive the trail offers any and all of us an accessible, protected and beautiful place for a healthy walk and contemplation.

This investment by CIA is surely the most notable recent improvement made to upgrade our quality of life. It speaks quietly and respectfully. It is to be enjoyed.
