As we see in the news another slide up on the Beach Road slope and wonder how to manage it all, it becomes apparent that we will not rest until we find stability for our homes.  We are willing to endure unusual suffering, loss of personal freedoms, for the hope that we will find it.  Starting in early December we all got a fresh appreciation for the secure, strong, immovable foundation.  I brought my own family to a self-giving man who had built a very good one.  Some of us are still patiently waiting for the geologist’s data, for the sake of those we love.  However, stability cannot be found in what is constantly unstable.  Only when we fix ourselves to the solid beneath the instability will we rest, trusting our house foundation.  If it works for our houses, why not seek the stability beneath our national leadership, culture, our personal lives?  A solid foundation beneath the instability truly does exist for all things, as surely as we ourselves have real purpose for existing.  It is worth the patient search to have found it.
