I have been thinking about people in my life that probably saved me. Here is a thank you note 15 years late:

Thanks, Joann Ross Cunningham for recommending the book “Go Ask Alice” in English class. It scared me away from drugs.

Matt Davis, I owe you a big apology. I was a terrible student even though you tried your best. I’m sorry.

Mark Fontenot, thanks for making science more fun than nerve-wracking. And for teaching me that it’s possible to live without coffee, even though I currently don’t.

Lilly Boron, I still love history because of you. You talked with me as if you didn’t mind that I was ignorant and willful. Thanks for that.

Phyllis Sage, thanks for always treating us girls like we were your own daughters. We love you.

To the Presbyterian Church members, what can I say to a group of individuals and families that helped lead me to Christ? Run the race. Never tire of doing good.

Kim and Don Phillips, a lot of things that I do for my kids are from direct memories at your house. You were always like another set of parents for me.

Bill and Shelley Hartmann, I enjoy our weekly chats. I love you and wish Nevada wasn’t so far away.

Patty Morgan, I love you Mom!

Greg and Carol Goodman, good job with Alix. She’s an amazing woman and she inspires me.

Thanks, Haines, Alaska, you wonderful little town!
