Jaxson Jaret Robert Grant was born Aug. 28 to Lyndsey Hura and Jaret Grant. Grandmother Jessie Grant, grandparents Teresa and Larry Hura, and uncle Nik Hura joined the parents in Anchorage to welcome the new baby. Big sisters Lillee and Natalee Grant were excited to meet their new brother. Lyndsey is grateful for the support from grandmothers Teresa and Jessie who have been taking great care of the new mother and baby while Jaret is working on constructing a new ferry dock in Tenakee Springs. Lyndsey and Jaxson plan to join Jaret in October. Conveniently, the Huras own a home in Tenakee Springs. 
Bozhi and Daniel Dellinger of Charlotte, North Carolina welcomed baby girl Parker Rae Dellinger on Sept.11. Bozhi reports both her parents Margaret Sebens and Todd Sebens were able to visit. Margaret continues to stay in North Carolina for another week to take care of the new family and visit with her sister and brother, who also live in the area. 
Bryan Harmon and Alisa Beske have moved back to Haines following Alisa’s graduation from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a bachelor’s degree in nursing science. On Sept. 16, Alisa celebrated her birthday and she passed her National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) State regulatory board test, so she is officially a licensed nurse. Bryan is staying busy with his local business: Stella Tree Services. Alisa is currently searching for a nursing position. 
Caitlin Stern moved back to Alaska in late March after four years of living in Denmark and the U.K. Caitlin and wife Jessie Barker both work for the State of Alaska, and live with their 3-year-old twin daughters Elsa and Sophie in Juneau. Grandparents Mark Sogge and Cecily Stern have enjoyed having the family close to Haines. 
Emily McMahan’s parent’s Mike and Becky Davidson have moved to Haines from Nashville, Tennessee. Emily, her husband Dr. Adam and their children Finn and Micah are thrilled to have grandparents next door to their Skyline home. Mike and Becky contracted Tony Malone to build a log home very similar to the log home Emily and Adam live in that Tony Malone also built. 
Haines Elementary School friends were able to get together for the first time in 10 years to celebrate Hannah Reeve’s 29th birthday. Hannah Reeves, Rachael Pattison, JoSharon Feldman, Lizzy Jurgeleit, Stojanka Lynch and Torrey Larson spent the day in the mountains hiking and appreciating summit views from 3920. The group is all currently living in Haines with the exception of Lizzy, who works for Northwind Architects in Juneau. Lizzy holds a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certificate and focuses on sustainable design as much as possible. Lizzy and her dog Mila have been visiting with friends and family in Haines for a couple weeks including parents Jim and Anna Jurgeleit and aunts and uncles Larry Jurgeleit, Nelle Greene-Jurgeleit, Lisa Blank and Mike Denker. Grandmother Patricia Blank has additionally enjoyed visits with Lizzy. 
The Haines Borough Public Library has reached its goal: Together Haines Reads a Million Pages. The goal was for the community of Haines to work together to achieve 1,000,000 pages. Drive by the front of the library to see the large banner of colored books, a visual measuring display that now has all the books colored in to represent the one million pages the community has read.
