The Lynn Canal Community Players is continuing to recruit storytellers, historians, comics and improvisational performers for what the organization hopes will become a series of short videos available on YouTube later this summer.
With the group’s summer workshops for kids shut down by the COVID-19 public health emergency, and any public performances on hold, moving to YouTube to share stories and talent of Haines seemed a good idea, said Tresham Gregg, who is directing the project.
Performers could include children, families, friends — most anyone with an idea who is willing to stand or sit for the camera. The Community Players and its summer facilitator Dan Mahoney, who is here from California, would help with coaching and production, “the whole bit,” Gregg said.
Possible subjects for the videos, which could range from just a few minutes to as long as 15, could include the area’s history, comedy acts, political discussions, or maybe puppet shows and children’s theater, Gregg said.
“If somebody wants to comment on international, national, local issues, that’s OK, he said. Just keep it civil.
