Wow! Wow! Wow! I have always thought our community was one of the best there is and now I am even more convinced! We spent the day putting in a community garden at Mosquito Lake Community Center and it truly was a community effort! Seventy people of all ages came to help throughout the day. All adding their own flair by planting it their way. The day included great conversations, getting to know each other while the hoes and planting trowels worked, many plants and seeds to share, food and drink shared, and lots of laughter. This is what community is made of! Let’s keep making the opportunities for this to happen. You gardeners know that planting is just the first step. Our work ahead is to keep it maintained, harvested, shared and used by those that need it. Let’s show each other that it can be done. Our world can be full of this kind of community rather than animosity and polarization.
