The end is not here. We are in the midst of change, and this is actually the norm of life: change is constant. Our volunteers are outstanding, our medical staff is wonderful, our EOC exemplary. How we handle this event here in Haines will only be judged in hindsight. We will show brilliance, compassion and ingenuity, taking care of our own and traveling visitors. Patience is something we all need more of especially now, the public transportation between Juneau and Haines is open for business, the ferry drops off passengers, flights still happen for returning family, friends and visitors. What we can do is to politely remind all visitors wandering about to stay indoors for the next few weeks. It will get better, not worse. Peace is where you find it, let all find peace in Haines.
