Recently at the Women’s Club Bazaar, I had a bird’s eye view of our people of Haines. On behalf of St. Michael’s and All Angels’ Episcopal Church, I had the opportunity to man the table for donations for Haines Salvation Army Holiday Meals. I saw folks shopping for gifts for friends and family (and even for themselves). More importantly, though, I also saw the true generosity of these same people reaching into their wallets or happily responding that they had already mailed their checks directly to the Salvation Army. In less than four hours, the donations equaled over $370–over $90 per hour! I truly believe that not many other towns our size in Alaska (or elsewhere in the US) would ever match this level of support. Thank you, Haines!

Sincerely,
