Alaska Arts Confluence Board of Directors would like to recognize the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation, whose support enables local charitable organizations to provide the many valuable services, projects, and resources that sustain and better all of our lives. A 2018 grant of $1,500 enabled our organization to sustain and grow our year-round programs and allowed more regular open hours for our Main Street gallery. We were able to offer four new workshops led by local artists, partner with the Haines Chamber by promoting First Friday under Chamber management, and further the groundwork to host a successful four-day engagement for a Portage Cove Framework Plan by James Corner Field Operations, landscape architects. The project goal is to help our community develop a shared design vision for the Portage Cove waterfront from Picture Point to Portage Cove Campground.
