Sitting down a week after the 50th running of the ALCAN 200, it is still difficult for me to not be moved by the incredible hard work and dedication of all those that make the ALCAN 200 happen year after year. Thanks to the tireless work of the Chilkat Snowburners, the cooperation of the Canadian government, all the wonderful sponsors, and the many volunteers; we have a road rally that is unique in all the world. Thank you all.

Special thanks to Eric Ferrin and Lowell Narum for the support at the half way point. Thanks to Zack Jacobs, Tyler Ferrin, Zack Ferrin, Woody Pahl and Jack Smith Jr. for your help getting the sled up and running after the last minute engine failure.

As usual, I am in debt to Jack Smith Jr. for having parts that I needed. I don’t know how you do it Jack. With sled set up being so individualized, the amount of time it takes to get one sled running is daunting. To do two other sleds at the same time is nothing short of a miracle. Then to have two of your sleds place in overall positions with the third sled just missing class placing is unheard of. Combine this with five consecutive years of taking overall positions and you have records that will not be broken. Like I said, I don’t know how you do it but you have my highest respect and regard.

Thanks again,

Chris Brooks
