The Glacier Bears girls’ team lost two tough games against Craig Dec. 17 and 18.

On Monday the team fell to the Lady Panthers 66-16. Freshman Avery Williamson led the boards with six points followed by Haley Boron with five points. Craig dominated the first quarter, scoring 24 points, but the Lady Bears stepped up their defense as the game progressed and kept the Panthers from scoring that high again in the game.

On Tuesday night, Haines put up a better effort on offense, but still lost 26-67. They again struggled in the first quarter, but picked up the pace the rest of the game. It was not enough to stop the Lady Panthers though, and the Craig teams scored 23 points in both the second and third quarters.

A scrappy Aireona Davis came alive that night and was the high scorer with 11 points and some good defensive stops. Williamson scored six points and Becca Wheeler scored 8 points.

The Lady Bears head to Metlakatla Jan. 11 and 12 and play at home Jan. 18 and 19.
