Haines had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day meal at the Haines Senior Center, thanks to so many people who took the time during their busy holiday schedules to prepare food and do all of the other things necessary for such a perfect meal. Over 200 meals were served. The Haines Ministerial Association organized the event, but it was the individuals from the local churches, and other volunteers that made it happen. The array of food was amazing, as was the friendly atmosphere. Thank you to each person who helped with planning, to each church that provided turkeys and hams, to each cook of the many other dishes, to each server and helper, to Dave Nanney and Samantha Clay for music, and to the amazing cleanup crew. Thanks also to the Haines Borough and Catholic Community Services for making our senior center available to the community. Please continue to support your neighbors in need this holiday season, especially through the Salvation Army. Merry Christmas!
