I am writing in response to Sean Maidy’s reference that it is ok to break the law. I am sure that nowhere in the driver’s manual does it say it is ok to exceed the speed limit by five miles an hour. The posted signs are there for a reason and that reason is public safety. Now, if I am driving past the school at 25 mph when the light is flashing for the posted 20 mph is that ok? I don’t think so, because the law states 20 mph. White posted speed signs are the law yellow posted signs are advisory. So if a person sees a white posted speed sign and chooses to exceed those limits they are breaking the law.
