A meeting on the University of Alaska’s proposed timber sale has been rescheduled to May 9 after bad weather prevented officials from flying to town.

Due to the cancellation, the comment period on the 13,000-acre sale has been extended to 5 p.m. on May 22. Comments can be submitted at [email protected].

Representatives from the University, Division of Forestry, Mental Health Land Trust Office and U.S. Forest Service will host a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on May 9 at the Chilkat Center to discuss the proposed sale.
