On Saturday, Jan. 13, I went to the post office accompanied by friends Dave and Svetlana Cowley. On my way back to the car my cleat got caught in the ramp grill. I was jerked around and sat down hard. I was too stunned to get up right away.

A stranger knelt down in front of me and held out his arms. I used him like a strong rock and climbed up. He steadied me with words and strength until I was able to get in the car assisted by Dave and Svetlana. For the next two days I simply laid around sipping turmeric tea.

The stranger didn’t know I was taking cortisone shots in my left knee for arthritis.

He didn’t know my brain tumor has left me legally blind, nor did he know I turn 80 years old on Feb. 8. He simply moved in and helped.

Here’s my special thank you to the Cowleys and to my rock strong hero. God bless.
