On behalf of the 12-member Mining Forum Steering Committee, I would like to thank the following people for helping to make last weekend’s event a success: Jessie Badger, Linda Palmer, Dick Haas, Dawn Drotos, and Jolanta Ryan for taking care of the kitchen; Ashley and James Sage for general assistance with navigating the school and with setup and take-down; Sam McPhetres for IT support; the Haines gillnet fleet for their donation of fresh coho, and Harry Rietze for filleting and freezing them (the fish, not the fishermen); the Uglys for grilling salmon on Saturday and the Haines High Junior Class for cooking chili on Sunday; and, Natalie Benassi and the Haines High Cheer and Stunt Team for serving fresh coffee donated by Mountain Market. This educational event, and its success, would not have been possible without a lot of generosity and hard work—two things that are wonderfully easy to find here in the Chilkat Valley. Thank you to all!
