The board and staff of Lynn Canal Conservation thank all those who helped to make the 2nd Chilkat Chef salmon dinner and cooking competition a great success. First, major thanks to Deana Stout for her organizing and energy. Thanks also to the Chamber of Commerce for running the bar, Sue Libenson and Tracy Harmon for MC-ing and bright ideas.
Thanks to our sponsors including Ocean Beauty Seafoods, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, Trout Unlimited, Olerud’s, Howser’s and Rainbow Glacier Adventures. Special thanks to Greg Bigsby F/V Rustler and Luck Dunbar for the lovely fresh cohos and Haines Packing Company for filleting. Mike Denker and Larry Jurgeleit grilled up the delicious fish. Sam McPheters and Marty Fowler managed the new audio/visual streaming. And all the seniors, servers, cashiers, kitchen help, fair staff, dish washers, food donaters. Etc. And last but not least, huge thanks to all the chefs who competed and created delectable dishes despite technical difficulties. If I left anyone out…my apologies. We netted about $2500, a portion of which goes to the Senior Village. We are striving to improve this fundraiser for next year!
