The Haines Sheldon Museum will be closed Sept. 22-Oct. 20 for cleaning, maintenance and exhibit changes. Exhibits including “Haines 50” and Chris Nowicki artworks will be coming down to make way for an upcoming exhibit on Alaska’s Sesquicentennial, said director Helen Alten. Staff also will be painting galleries, the first fresh coat in about two decades for some of the building’s walls. The museum will host a welcome reception for Southeast Conference on Monday.
